MAY 6, 2026 / KANANASKIS, AB — The Canadian Petrochemical Summit has unveiled the program for its 2026 event, bringing together senior leaders from across the petrochemical and energy sectors for a focused, high-level dialogue on the future of the industry.
This year’s Summit will feature an executive panel of industry leaders, alongside a series of in-depth conversations with key policymakers. Corey Hogan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, will participate in a fireside chat, while Brian Jean, Alberta’s Minister of Energy and Minerals, will join for a candid discussion on the province’s role in advancing Canada’s petrochemical competitiveness. In addition, Skya Kruithof, President of Dow Canada, and Rocky Vermani, Senior Vice President, Innovation and Sustainability at NOVA Chemicals, will participate in an Executive Panel featuring senior leaders from across the petrochemical sector.
A keynote address from Dr. Heather Exner-Pirot will close the Summit, examining whether Canada’s policy and regulatory framework is aligned to capture a rapidly evolving global energy investment landscape. Exner-Pirot is a Senior Fellow and Director of the Natural Resources, Energy and Environment program at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute and a Special Advisor to the Business Council of Canada.
The program will also include a panel on extended producer responsibility, moderated by Bob Masterson, offering insights into how regulatory shifts are shaping the future of plastics and sustainability.
In addition, S&P Global Commodity Insights will open the program diving into the global market dynamics before drilling down into the western Canadian context. Plus, Dow Jones Energy / Chemical Market Analytics will present an analysis of the petrochemical sector’s strategic role in supporting Canada’s federal defence priorities, highlighting opportunities for Canadian companies to strengthen their position in an increasingly complex global market.
“The Canadian Petrochemical Summit continues to serve as a critical forum for aligning industry leadership with public policy and global market realities,” said Conal MacMillan, Alberta’s Industrial Heartland Association Director of Communications. “This year’s program reflects the urgency—and the opportunity—for Canada to act decisively in securing its place in the next phase of energy and petrochemical investment.”
The Canadian Petrochemical Summit is made possible through the support of its valued sponsors, including Dow Chemical, Nutrien, Cando Rail, CPKC, Fluor, Keyera, Chemical Industry Association of Canada, Rangeland Engineering, PCL and the Port of Vancouver. Their leadership and commitment play a key role in advancing meaningful dialogue and collaboration across the sector.
The Canadian Petrochemical Summit will take place June 16–18, 2026, in Kananaskis, Alberta, in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. The event is invitation-only; however, interested participants may apply to join the waitlist through the Summit website.
