Inter Pipeline Announces Positive FID on Heartland Petrochemical Complex

Today Inter Pipeline announced that its Board of Directors authorized the construction of a world-scale integrated propane dehydrogenation (PDH) and polypropylene (PP) plant. The facilities, collectively referred to as the Heartland Petrochemical Complex, are estimated to cost $3.5 billion in aggregate and will be located in Strathcona County

This exciting PDH/PP project will bring a new technology to Canada and will provide existing businesses spin-off opportunities to elevate their own service offerings.  It is a great example of how a coordinated effort by all levels of government will succeed in attracting significant investment and jobs.
